In 31 years at the College of Wooster, Steve Moore became one of the most successful basketball coaches in the history of the NCAA's Division III.

Although Wooster had great hardwood success when its teams were guided for 32 years by E.M. Hole and for 21 years by Al Van Wie, Moore has taken the Fighting Scots to an even higher level.

Under his guidance, Wooster has earned 26 NCAA Tournament invitations and 19 North Coast Athletic Conference regular season titles and 16 NCAC Tournament Championships, while achieving a sparkling winning percentage of .809.

A former Wittenberg University point guard who was part of three Ohio Athletic Conference championship teams, Moore was head coach for five years at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. Hired by Wooster for the 1987-88 season, he had an immediate impact on a team that finished 8-18 the year before.

Wooster's 14-11 record in his first year as head coach started a string of 31 consecutive winning seasons during which he was selected as NCAC Coach of the Year eight times. His record is 735-174 at Wooster and 822-239 overall.
