Michael Redd was not a first round choice in the National Basketball Association when he decided after his junior year at Ohio State to become a professional, but perhaps he should have been. The Milwaukee Bucks got a quite bargain when they obtained the 6-foot-6 shooting guard in the second round of the 2000 draft. He has blossomed into one of the NBA’s top scorers and was rewarded after the 2004-05 season with a six-year, $91 million contract. He was a member of the gold medal-winning 2008 U.S. Olympic team. He scored 40 points against Detroit in a 2006 playoff game and a Milwaukee record of 57 points against Utah on Nov. 11, 2006. At Ohio State, Redd was freshman of the year in the Big Ten and the Buckeyes’ most valuable player. He averaged 21.9, 19.5 and 17.3 points in three seasons at OSU and played on the 1999 Final Four team.
