Lisa Cline played high school basketball for West Holmes’ very successful basketball program. Cline still owns several school records years after last stepping onto a high school basketball court – most points in a game (76), most points in a season (1,034), most field goals in a season (448) and most field goals in a career (1,247). Lisa played for West Holmes from 1982-85 and was an instrumental part of the first two, of three-straight State championship winning teams (’84-’86), which also strung together a possibly never-to-be-equaled 108 straight wins.
Her dream was to follow her brother, Mike, and play for the Ohio State University. Lisa was named Big Ten Freshman of the year in 1986. Three years later she was Big Ten Player of the Year. She was a member of three Big Ten Championships, Kodak All American Honorable Mention in 1989, a member of 4 NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and 4 times an All Big Ten selection. She finished her career as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,750 points (she now ranks 5th), is one of two OSU players with more than 1500 points, 400 assists and 200 steals.
