Jeanne Arnzen Gulick named the OBHOF Board President

The Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeanne Arnzen Gulick as its new President of the Board of Trustees. With her deep roots in Ohio basketball and proven leadership skills, Gulick is poised to elevate the Hall of Fame's mission of honoring excellence and inspiring future generations of players across the Buckeye State. Jeanne is the daughter of Alice and Bob Arnzen, who spent 43 successful years as the Head Coach of the boys’ basketball team at Delphos St. John’s. Coach Arnzen was part of the 2006 Charter Class of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Jeanne Arnzen Gulick brings a wealth of experience and passion for the sport to her new role. She is a member of the 2010 Class of Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. She was honored for her achievements at Delphos St. Johns High School, where she was a starter that made three straight trips to the OHSAA State tournament, clinching the championship in 1977 and 1979. During her high school career she scored ​​1,085 points, The Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays were coached by 2010 OBHOF Inductee Fran Voll. She went on to play at Northern Kentucky University and then transferred to Bowling Green State University where she had continued success. She went on to spend her career teaching and coaching, first in Van Wert and Centerville before spending the bulk of her career in the Madeira School District. She retired in 2019.

Gulick takes the helm from Ron Kellogg, who served as President from 2016 - 2024. He was just the second President of the organization. Co-Founder Don Henderson served as President from 2005 - 2016. 

As Board President, Gulick will oversee the strategic direction of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, working closely with the board of directors and staff to enhance the organization's impact and reach within the basketball community. Her primary objectives include raising funds for the Hall of Fame and increasing public awareness of its mission.

Doc Daugherty, Co-Founder of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment: "Jeanne embodies the spirit of Ohio basketball. Her experience as a player and coach, combined with her passion for the game, makes her an outstanding choice to lead our organization."

Upon accepting the position, Gulick shared her vision: "I am honored to take on this role and continue the great work of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. Basketball has been a significant part of my life, and I'm committed to not only celebrating and preserving the rich history of the sport in our state but also ensuring the Hall of Fame's financial stability and expanding its influence. We have a unique opportunity to inspire future generations by showcasing the achievements of Ohio's basketball legends, and I'm excited to lead these efforts."

Jeanne and her husband, Jim Gulick, reside in Cincinnati. They have two sons and a daughter, and three grandchildren. 

The 2025 Class will be announced on October 7 at 7 pm ET. It will be live streamed on the OBHOF Facebook page and YouTube channel. The 2025 Induction Ceremony will be held on April 12 at the Hilton Polaris in Columbus. Tickets will go on sale in October.
