Butcher’s teams were ranked No. 1 in Ohio by the Associated Press nine consecutive years. Pickerington won 74 consecutive games during the 1991-92 and 1993-94 seasons and had a 181-game win streak in its league, beginning in 1987. Over 25 years, Butcher’s teams averaged 23.3 victories and 2.5 losses, going undefeated in 1984-85 and 1992-93. Five of his players were named Player of the Year in Ohio and more than 50 went on to play Division I college basketball.
