After an outstanding career at Columbus Eastmoor High School, Don Carlos was an immediate success at Otterbein College. The 6-foot-5 guard/forward was a four-time NCAA college division All-American from 1963-1967. He is the only player to win the Ohio Athletic Conference scoring title four consecutive years and the first OAC player to score 2,500 points. His 27.3 career point average and 15.2 career rebound average still rank No. 1 in school history. His 2,543 point total ranked 10th among all-time NCAA small college players. As of 2009 Carlos still ranked third in the OAC in both points and rebounds. After graduation, Carlos played one season with the Houston Mavericks of the American Basketball Association, averaging 11.2 points.
