Considered too small and too slow for the NBA, Mark Price proved his critics wrong. A four-time Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year at Georgia Tech, the 6-foot point guard came to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 1986 draft day trade with Dallas and helped turn the Cavs into a contender. He became only the third player (Larry Bird and Reggie Miller are the others) to shoot at least 40 percent from 3-point range, 50 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line in a single season. He is still one of only five players in the 50-40-90 Club. He spent nine seasons with the Cavs and was a four-time all-star. He played for the gold medal-winning U.S. National team, known as Dream Team II, in the 1994 World Championship. Price won the 3-point contest at the NBA All-Star Game twice. He finished his career, playing one year each for Washington, Golden State and Orlando. Since retirement, he has been a shooting coach for NBA teams. He is currently an assistant coach with the Charlotte Hornets.
