Brooke Wyckoff gave the Florida State University women’s basketball program a big lift when she passed up scholarship offers from neighborhood schools in Ohio to play for a struggling team in Tallahassee. In her senior year, the 6-foot-1 forward led the Seminoles to their first winning record (19-12) in nine years and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 10 years.

What followed was a nine-year career in the Women’s National Basketball Association with Orlando, Connecticut and the Chicago Sky after which FSU coach Sue Semrau offered her a job on the school’s coaching staff.

Wyckoff played at Lakota High School in West Chester where she averaged 14 points per game as a sophomore, 13.9 as a junior and 17.3 as a senior in 1996-97. She was named to the All-Ohio Division I first team as a junior and senior.

At FSU she was a first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection in 2001 when she averaged 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds.

Brooke Wyckoff’s 1,350 career points is still the 10th most in school history and her 804 rebounds rank sixth. She has the second most blocked shots.
