Mike Stumpf

Mike Stumpf built an exceptional basketball legacy that began at Columbus West High School, where he earned All-City First Team honors as both a junior and senior, culminating with Honorable Mention All-State recognition in his final season.

At Capital University, Stumpf became one of the program's most dominant players in school history. He established himself as the all-time leading scorer with 1,777 points and all-time leading rebounder with 1,175 rebounds—records that stand as testament to his complete game. His single-season rebounding record of 375 rebounds in 1974 showcased his relentless effort on the boards. After earning Honorable Mention All-OAC as a freshman, Stumpf garnered First Team All-OAC honors three consecutive years (1973-1975). His stellar senior campaign earned him OAC Player of the Year, All-American honors, and Academic All-American recognition in 1974, demonstrating excellence both on the court and in the classroom. Capital University inducted him into its Athletics Hall of Fame in 1993.

Beyond his playing career, Stumpf extended his impact as Head Baseball Coach at Capital University in 1977 and has served as Head Girls Basketball Coach at Big Walnut since 1988, earning OCC Coach of the Year honors in 1998.

His community leadership includes service on the Big Walnut School Board beginning in 1985 and as a Trustee at Worthington Christian Village since 2010. As President of Riverstone Construction since 1988, he was named BIA Remodeler of the Year in 2001.
